Chris Hedges on Iraq and Bush

August 30th, 2007 · No Comments

From Truthdig:
Harris: Let’s move the conversation over to George Bush. Given the growing frequency of tragedy in Iraq, what precedence do you think it says that Congress has been unable to affect George Bush’s policy and his war in Iraq at all?
Hedges: Well, it’s a product of the imperial presidency. It’s what Bob [...]

Salon: The waning power of the War Myth

August 29th, 2007 · No Comments

By Gary Kamiya, in Salon
Aug. 28, 2007 | Bush’s entire presidency has been propped up by the War Myth. August 24th, 2007 · No Comments

From the Economic Times:
BEIJING: China has banned a blood-spattered genre of reality TV shows where patients undergo sex-change operations and cosmetic surgery live in front of mass audiences.

這種自我發現令我不悅

August 21st, 2007 · No Comments

The Nation: Sarko and tax cuts in France

August 21st, 2007 · No Comments

From Jordan Stancil, writing in The Nation
As with the Bush Administration’s tax cuts, the big winners in France will be at the very top. According to the Finance Ministry’s estimates, the 1,081 households whose net worth is over 15.5 million euros will each get the equivalent of more than $344,000. So Sarkozy’s “modernization” looks [...]
