If I were ever so stupid as to say something of that nature to my wife (who hails from Beijing's most northwestern edge, just to emphasize that I've never yet met a Chinese woman submissive enough to tolerate that kind of crap) the next day's China Daily would bear the headline: "Beijing police use warm water and sponges to slowly remove remains of stupid foreigner from pavement." Unfortunately, though, all kinds of domestic abuse and violence are just as much a problem here as in my homeland, and so I'm not surprised, but thoroughly disgusted, to see evidence of a man treating his wife so badly. Bloody hell!
